Great example of the ideology that's prevailed recently: "A few inconsiderate people caused me to have a bad time, so we need to change the rules for everyone."
There's nothing inherently dangerous about descending the Incline. People should stay in control and yield to uphill hikers. Yes, there are a few morons who don't follow these basic principles. There's also a few morons in every other [less strenuous] walk of life. Hold these individuals accountable instead of ordering change for the masses.
Also understand that the Incline is a popular, public hike. If you're an enthusiast and are going to have a problem with people getting in your way while crushing it in 24 minutes (nice work), here's a pro tip: maybe don't do the Incline on one of the busiest days of the year.
Look, I get frustrated by the amount of people on the Incline and the lack of respect/etiquette of some, too. My solution: I typically only do it during non-peak times. Otherwise, I put up with it and don't complain, or hike something else.
