Re: “From homes to oil?

goldsabbath - Please accept my apology. I made the mistake of trying to reply to the comment posted by rt this morning. While doing so I forgot to address the reply directly to rt which led to the confusion. I'm sorry.
Honestly, I really liked this article and am grateful that Pam wrote it. The topic of oil and gas exploration in Colorado Springs is an important one and it needs to be considered carefully.
Unfortunately, I allowed myself to be pulled into rt's world where he used this forum as a vehicle to inject his own personal agenda into the issue. When challenged, rt resorted to insinuating that my choice to live in Banning Lewis ranch reflects a low level of concern for my son's safety. The fact that we chose BLR for its proximity to BOTH my work, bringing me 15 miles closer to my place of employment, as well as providing my son with a school within walking distance (Banning Lewis Academy) are facts that he is obviously ignorant of. Still, I'm sure that rt will have a stunningly pithy response to this post that will undoubtedly put me in my place.

rt - from your comments I can tell that you are a class act and and that you are way too concerned about getting the last word in to host a meaningful conversation about the topic of oil and gas exploration in CS. Go spend your time attacking someone else because you won't hear anything else from me on this venue. I have better things to do.
This whole exchange reminds me of what my brother recently warned me about concerning people who argue on the internet and how they are a lot like the people who compete on the reality show, "The Biggest Loser."
Win or lose, they're still losers...

Re: “From homes to oil?

I didn't claim to be an "environmentalist" as you miss-state. I'm a biologist who try's to stay educated so I can make reasonable decisions without being conflicted about them.
It's unfortunate that you chose to attack me personally instead of focusing on the issue discussed in this article.
You frequently post comments criticizing the poor planning and outlook displayed by the city of Colorado Springs yet when real questions arise concerning future development in the form of oil and gas exploration you chose to take the low road. I guess it's easier to do nothing and then wag your finger and tell anyone who will listen about how things should have been done.
