Re: “About the city's bus routes ...

The big car dealerships have had a hand in thwarting our public transportation. Much like LA where it's impossible to get anywhere efficiently so you are forced to buy a car to keep your job or do anything with some reliability. Now our roads are screwed up so they're making money on car repairs and people having to buy new cars as their busted rims, damaged axles and suspension are too expensive to fix.

Re: “Shop around Colorado Springs

Three businesses listed for Old Colorado City? When most of the Independent Best of Categories are ranked in Old Colorado City? You have the best local Restaurants, local Artists, a great Comic and Collectables store, Custom Jewelers, a Gaming Shop, Lorig's Western wear, Children's Clothing, a year round Holiday Shop and my shop Podiatryst Shoe Salon(#2 shoe store in the Best of 2014). Where were your writers, at their desks?

Re: “Flavors to savor

Most small business owners would prefer to be discovered by the masses, they don't last otherwise. When people know of a great place and don't spread the word they're actually hurting the success of that business. SHARE! SHARE! SHARE!

Re: “Marijuana and Manitou

Ask anyone in Law Enforcement who they would rather deal with, a drunk or someone high on pot? Alcohol makes some people violent, marijuana makes people mellow. As for health issues, Alcohol causes liver and kidney damage, affects blood and brain function. 3 or 4 puffs of smoke does not do the damage of a pack of cigarettes. The prohibition was more than likely brought on by big business and the pharmaceutical industry so people can't make money off of something that grows wild.

Re: “The to-do list is sizable for C4C backers

I don't think that this is necessarily a bad idea to help the economy in Colorado Springs. Adding major tourism and advanced medical facilities could bring a lot of revenue into the city as well as higher paying industries. If you are happy with Denver getting all of the resources in the state and keeping wages low because of the military influence in this city then so be it. A city of this size cannot survive on call center jobs and low end military and retail jobs. It would also help to revitalize and create a core for the city which should be downtown, not a strip mall on Powers Boulevard or a Mega Church.
