Re: “Risqué business

Thank our lucky stars someone was brave enough to bring burlesque back to Colorado Springs. I would be hard pressed to say Colorado Springs is on the cutting edge of anything. Unfortunately for us, we have got this whole burlesque thing to contend with now. I really enjoy going to my favorite hole in the wall only to be vexed by people masquerading as “small c” celebrities. What is with this whole rock-a-billie scene anyway? Someone should inform the Fonz that his McCarthy era greaser look is being plagiarized. I’m sure it’s all old news in other parts of the country by now. Colorado Springs on the other hand will have to put up with this for sometime I’m afraid. Perhaps I should keep my quest for art cordoned to Manitou Springs and the lovely collection of carved bears and dream catchers. Although it must generate some revenue for bar sales. Every time I patronize an establishment headlining the show, I undoubtedly purchase more drinks. It helps get through the night of boorish antics.
