The Antlers Hotel (4 S. Cascade Ave., antlers.com) remains in the process of rolling out three new dining options: the Piccadilly Bar, Duca’s Neapolitan Pizza, and the London Grill. It’s part of extensive renovations that have been taking place since Perry Sanders, owner of the Mining Exchange, and business partner John Goede took over in 2015. The Piccadilly Bar, as well as the fine dining option, were staples of the Antlers in bygone years.

“We decided to dust off a piece of history when we found a bunch of memorabilia,” says Sanders.
The Piccadilly Bar offers 50 beers on tap, plus a further 50 options in cans and bottles, as well as about 100 wines, Sanders says. He’s put chef Rene LeBlanc in charge of the Piccadilly’s kitchen, currently in a soft-open phase with a limited menu.

“Nothing on the menu has gotten anything except really nice response,” Sanders says, noting the pan-seared trout, poutine and a fried green tomato BLT as standouts.

Taking the place of Judge Baldwin’s Brewing Company, Duca’s Pizza will be the third such location in town. The eatery specializes in wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas and other Italian classics, plus meat and cheese boards. There will also be more seating than there was at Baldwin’s — Sanders says the renovation added between 1,000 and 1,500 square feet of space.

“You’ll have a walk-up point of sale for grab-and-go, with a beautiful pastry section,” says Sanders, noting in particular a selection of macarons. Traditional sit-down dining will also have 12 beer taps.

“It’s been lightened up everywhere — beautiful dove white with gold trim,” says Sanders. Duca’s will soft-open in early August.

As for the London Grill, Food and Beverage Manager Johnathan Shankland says that while the menu hasn’t been finalized, it’s intended to be a modernization of a mid-20th century supper club. Once the Grill is ready, Shankland says they’ll hold a full grand opening for all three eateries.
