Re: “Still screwed

As an Army CPT serving on Fort Carson who has worked with the WTU, I can tell you that this story smacks of Soldiers whining and not real issues. Like any organization, the WTU has all-stars and those that need some development. But the cadre bend over backwards for these Soldiers. I've talked to WTU Soldiers who are "disgusted at the majority of wounded warriors who milk their injuries for personal gain". Tough to hear? Absolutely. Some Soldiers succumb to a great sense of entitlement and complain and whine rather than attempt to fix the problem. The Warrant Officer in this article has years of service and is a senior leader but he whines and complains about his situation like a new private would. None of the 160 Soldiers in my company live in Denver because it is stupid to do so and they are smart enough to realize it. Formations at random times are a natural aspect of Army life and living that far away is just plain dumb. It's not the unit coming after him, it's him having to drive 60 miles. Just dumb dumb dumb. I'm embarassed for him that he doesn't use the thousands of doors open to him to address his concerns and instead whines to a local paper.
