Re: “UPDATE: Excitment over Coachella reminds the world of Anschutz’s ties to anti-LGBTQ organizations

Anschutz owns the Gazette, so he knows fake news when he sees it.

Re: “Time to comment on cable franchise agreement

This agreement includes various rules about television service, but nothing at all about Comcast's internet service. WTF?

Re: “City looks to build a subterranean parking garage to sprout growth in southwest downtown

This sounds a lot like the city paying to build Nor'wood a garage for their building, but selling it to voters as being necessary for the Olympic museum.

Re: “'Democracy Now!' host Amy Goodman to speak at Colorado College

Ugh. I used to think highly of Goodman until I saw a transcript of her show about Kathy Boudin. Boudin was part of a group that shot half the police in Nyack, NY, the town I lived in as a kid. She drove the getaway truck, but her most notable act was convincing the police that they had the wrong truck, so that they'd lower their weapons-- making them sitting ducks when Boudin's companions came out of the back of the truck with guns blazing. This after their first attack of the day, opening fire at the Nanuet mall and killing an armored truck guard, followed by a high speed chase across the county to Nyack.

Goodman described Boudin as a victim, while not bothering to talk to any surviving family members of Boudin and company's actual victims. She did talk to Boudin's son and attorney and to other supporters.

After seeing the transcript I'll never believe anything Amy Goodman says ever again. If she ever portrays someone in a positive light, I'll wonder if they're actually as evil as Boudin.

Here's Wikipedia's page on the event:…

Here's a summary by families of the victims:

Re: “Brasher Doubloon

One of Raymond Chandler's Philip Marlowe stories centers on the theft of one of these. "The High Window", published in 1942.

Re: “UPDATED: Gazette employees reportedly could be fired for commenting on marijuana stories

At this point the Gazette should just arrange a non-ironic showing of "Reefer Madness" and be done with it.

Re: “Internet, where art thou?

Calling the Colorado Public Utilities Commission won't help-- the FAQ on PUC's web site includes:

"I need faster Internet service and the phone company won't provide it. Can you help?"

"No. Broadband (high-speed Internet service) is not a regulated/required service."
