Re: “Bad will at Goodwill?

I worked for a Goodwill Store in North Carolina. It was the most abusive hostile environment I've ever experienced. There can be no worse place to work.

Abusive, hostile, cruel, uncouth. The internal turmoil is amazing. Backbiting, back stabbing, undercutting, hostile.

Goodwill must have a hiring goal that they meet by harassing employees to quit. If that fails, they fire them before the employee has been there long enough to get unemployment, or perhaps a sales bonus.

The problem does not originate at the store level, it is pervasive. I met employees of other stores at my orientation - by the way that is 2 weeks after you are hired that they give you orientation and or even a name tag. Well the other store's employees said their workplace was a hell too.

I'll never go in a Goodwill again after learning first hand how employees are treated. There's something really sick about this place.

I left a good part time job to get what I thought was a full time job at Goodwill. Big mistake, I should have researched Goodwill on the internet. There's a job website call Indeed, and you can see what other former employees say about working there. Wish I'd seen that first.

There's something really wrong with that place and it has to be coming from upper management.

Go to your local Goodwill's website where they list jobs, you'll see that they are always hiring constantly - they have to, because they can't or don't keep employees.
