Re: “After cops kill his son, a local man fights Vegas PD

I've read Scott was shot in the back 5 times after he was down.

Has this been verified?

If so, why aren't cops facing murder charges? And what about the police chief? It's been a month already - plenty of time for a coverup. So where's the evidence?

Re: “After cops kill his son, a local man fights Vegas PD

It's not just the LVPD. Most police departments are becoming "militarized" and shooting innocent people (in the back... 5 times... as they lay on the ground) is just considered "collateral damage". If you want to change the gang mentality of cops, you need to have consequences for their actions: A mandatory 5 years in prison for perjury would be a good start. Independent investigation of all police crimes would be another. A Nation-wide law that DOUBLES the penalties for all crimes committed by police and District Attorneys would be another great step.

Otherwise, continue to look for gestapo tactics and murders committed by cops who don't give a f*ck about citizens' lives.

Re: “Brewing terrorism

>> Why through 8 years of Bush Administration attacks upon the Constitution and the Rule of Law was everything business as usual but once we get a black man in the White House who wants to make sure every American has decent health insurance it's time to "take back our country"?

It's been time to "take back our country" for more than 30 years. Bush II was terrible. Obama is worse. Unfortunately, many people in this country think "tribally". They'll support an idiot in the Oval Office if he's THEIR idiot. That goes for liberals and conservatives alike. It's much easier to "cheer for your team" than it is to make the effort to understand and weigh issues, and decide whether you support an individual or not.

So, clearly, there are lots of liberals/conservatives who would support policies they would find anathema were they carried out by a conservative/liberal president.

What's changed is the growing number of people who are finally catching on to the Washington DC "shell game". The policies that are destroying America are the same - whether they be Obama's or Bush's. When we stop looking at issues tribally (as "Democrat" or "Republican") and start looking at the issues themselves, both sides will find they don't like most of what the politicians in Washington are doing. As that realization grows, more people become anti-incumbent. That's what Obama is experiencing. He promised hope. What we got was more of the same. He's a liar. So was Bush.

I say, hold them to the Constitution. Ask if what they're doing is making America better. And always, always ask, "What's it going to cost?" Because if you don't do that, you get the same thing as when you run up your credit cards: fun today, disaster tomorrow.
