Behind the Lens: Photography in the Pikes Peak Region

When: April 30-Oct. 1 2011

If you need a reminder that most people suck at taking pictures, check out the post-bender snapshots that show up glowingly tagged on Facebook. Luckily, there are professionals who know how to capture true greatness, as you'll see when the Pikes Peak Library District and the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum present Behind the Lens: Photography in the Pikes Peak Region. This limited time engagement captures the beauty of the area through the photography of William Henry Jackson, Laura Gilpin, Harry L. Standley, Stan Payne and Myron Wood. The exhibit, which opened Saturday, will be on display for months during normal business hours (10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturdays) at the always-free Pioneers Museum (215 S.
