We must always defend the right of our people to protest. Just because they are a PITA to some does not abrogate their right to congregate peacefully and to protest (which, from my personal observations, the OCS folks did). But, I'm not sure why it's so important to be able to set up semi-permanent structures for a protest to take place. During the past two or so weeks, the "camp" was largely (if not totally) abandoned. To me, it's one thing to be upset if the city shut down an actual protest (i.e., there are actual protesters on site) vs. the city wanting to clean up a corner of a public park that has been designated as "occupied" by a group of people, but in reality, is just a corner that was becoming a trash site.
