Re: “Water fight

A good article showing another approach to providing water that Colorado Springs wants, as well as power! I found this article in this week's Independent while doing final searches for my article in this week's Black Forest News about SDS, the proposed Jimmy Camp reservoir, and the minimally studied archaeological/paleontological resources of the upper Jimmy Camp Valley and Corral Bluffs in the Denver Formation of the Denver Basin. All other facets considered, maybe wetlands "loss" will need to be evaluated against paleo/archeo resource "loss" if the FEIS comes up with some hybrid alternative that continues to use Jimmy Camp Valley for terminal storage. According to the DEIS, the Jimmy Camp storage, as proposed, "will adversely affect" irreplaceable Denver Basin paleotological and archaeological resources - there is no escaping that fact.
