Henry Paul was an original member of the Outlaws, the Southern rock band whose dual-guitar-driven "Green Grass and High Tides" became a classic rock staple. He then moved on to the twangier BlackHawk, who stormed country radio in the mid-'90s with hits like "I'm Not Strong Enough to Say No" and sold some 7 million records before falling out of fashion. Through the years, Paul has kept both franchises alive, and BlackHawk has released some solid tracks, including the engagingly Mellencamped-out "Days of America." The band's currently recording a collection of new songs and will likely slip a few into tonight's set, which gets underway at 9 at Cowboys (25 N. Tejon St., Day-of tickets will cost you $19. — Bill Forman
