What a waste of time and money. First he insults the Food Network, then he insults the people of Colorado by saying that we are all ignorant when it comes to food, then he opens another restaurant with prices that most of us dealing with another recession can't afford. Last year I earned $103,000, yet I couldn't justify blowing $300 for meal for two at his black bear restaurant. This town doesn't need more expensive restaurants run by chefs who look down their noses at us. With the high foreclosure rate this year we really need more affordable entertainment. Anyone who has lived near one of our coastlines knows that there is no such thing as "fresh" seafood in the midwest. It can't be done. Claims of "flash frozen" and "dry ice" are just marketing to make the customer think they are getting fresh seafood when in fact that food is usually several days old. If you've ever eaten truly fresh scallops or truly fresh halibut and then tried these same wonderful foods here in Colorado you know exactly what I mean. It isn't fresh if it has been frozen. Save your money and take a trip to the coast for a weekend and have a great meal with real fresh seafood. The meal will cost you much less, will taste much better, and you get to enjoy our country's beautiful coastline.
