A poster next to our table at Mother Muff's proffers a bulk deal for pint cans of Shiner light blonde: $20 for 10. We naturally ask the waitress how many people need to be at a table to order 10 pints in one fell swoop. We’re told there’s no minimum, but they’d split it up if one person’s bold enough to order a gallon and a quarter of beer in one go. It’s food for thought as we order the sweet potato hash and the 5280 Omelette. The former’s oily to the touch, a mix of sweet potato, sausage crumbles and nominal bits of red onion and bell pepper. Two eggs come cooked past requested over easy, with partially solidified yolks. But overall, the dish tastes well seasoned and satisfying. The 5280 Omelette arrives with big ham cubes and plenty of green pepper. Side hash browns are large-cut, scattered rather than cohesive and just as oily as the hash. Still, both rate as fine booze sponges or hangover eats.
