Is it a major discovery or a major hype? In March, an expedition led in part by Colorado Springs native Gary Ziegler found what appears to be a lost Inca city in Peru. Since then, controversy has raged about the legitimacy of the find. Ziegler will talk about the expedition on Thursday, May 30, at the Mountain Chalet, 226 N. Tejon beginning at 8 p.m. The lecture is free and open to the public.

James Hull, considered to be the region's first environmentalist, will be honored in a memorial dedication at Evergreen Cemetery on Saturday, May 25. In 1872, Hull purchased South Cheyenne Canyon to save the area from timbering. The ceremony begins at 1 p.m. at the Evergreen Cemetery Chapel, 1025 S. Hancock Ave. Call 385-5253 for info.
