The state-owned and -operated regional bus system, Bustang, has exceeded projections in its third year. This year, ridership is averaging 17,000 passengers a month.

"Usually it takes about a year to build ridership within a new transportation system but we actually exceeded our projected passenger numbers during our first year of operation," Colorado Department of Transportation Director of Transit and Rail David Krutsinger stated in a press release. "And we've continued to exceed expectations over the last couple of years."

Bustang routes include: Fort Collins-Denver (including Broncos routes to Mile High Stadium), Colorado Springs-Denver (including Broncos routes to Mile High Stadium), Glenwood Springs-Denver, Vail-Denver, Denver-Grand Junction, Lamar-Pueblo, Alamosa-Pueblo, Gunnison-Denver and Durango-Grand Junction. Further expansion is planned, including Pueblo routes to be added this year.
