Though the B’z website still has some information about a sister spot in Virginia, this truck has stood alone, steadfastly serving outside Rocky Mountain Brewery in a little warehouse district near Powers and Platte for nearly nine years. Naturally, we grab a few bites to go along with our brews. We’re perhaps most excited for the burnt ends sandwich ($7.75). For those unfamiliar, burnt ends are the fatty ends of a brisket, cut off after barbecuing and smoked again. It’s a trademark of Kansas City-style barbecue, tender and extra smoky, served cubed under choice of sauce and a side of slaw. We sauce up with peach habanero, which buries fruity notes with tomato but retains some heat.

We also try the hot link ($5.95), which bears a deep peppery flavor and an approachable spice level. The smoked chicken sandwich ($5.95) bears acceptably moist chicken thighs with lettuce, onion, tomato and choice of sauce. Go flavorful — there’s not much to the meat.
