Coffee and desserts at The Broadmoor (1 Lake Ave., broadmoor.com) just got even more bougie with the reopening of Café Julie's, which closed in 2013 and was replaced by Natural Epicurean. The spot — on the ground level of Broadmoor Main — serves coffee from Italian roaster Lavazza, plus house-made pastries, continental breakfast, grab-and-go sandwiches and salads, house breads, and 10 flavors of house-made gelato served, optionally, in fresh-made waffle cones.

But the most standout element is the chocolate. There's a custom chocolate kitchen, temperature and humidity controlled, which turns out bonbons and other confections from a range of French imported Valrhona chocolates, including a 66 percent cacao house blend. They also offer retail confections, including chocolate bars, chocolate-coated confections, caramels and more.
