California-launched Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar opens a Springs location, and other food news

• “Rocky Mountain-inspired” but California-launched Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar (lazydogrestaurants.com) opened its new Colorado Springs location on Oct. 16 at 7605 N. Academy Blvd. It marks the chain’s 34th location across the country. Lazy Dog’s press release says it’s dedicated to scratch-made and elevated comfort foods, plus craft cocktails, and a menu perusal shows a catch-all list from burgers to pizzas and noodle plates. The release also notes “a dining experience that feels like family,” echoing the treacly corporate lingo built around some version of “when you’re here, you’re family.” (Which we take to mean something like bickering’s likely to break out at the table and someone will leave the meal resolved to skip Thanksgiving at someone else’s house, etc., etc. ... Not really, but you can imagine.)
