A trio of bills that could massively alter the state's cannabis industry advanced in the state Legislature and U.S. Congress.

Colorado House Bill 1028, which would add autism to the list of conditions that can be treated with medical cannabis, was sent to Gov. Jared Polis' desk March 28. Polis was expected to sign it.

Another state bill, which would legalize retail cannabis hospitality establishments where people can buy and consume weed, was approved by the House Business Affairs & Labor Committee on March 27 and referred to the Finance Committee.

And on Capitol Hill, a bill sponsored by Rep. Ed Perlmutter, R-Colorado, would allow banks and lenders to serve marijuana businesses. That bill was approved by the House Financial Services committee and now heads to the House floor.
