Re: “Sex, lies and duct tape: Science and morality make for strange bedfellows in D-11

Zach, sorry I know that I am wordy but one last thing. I hope that the people around you, in your family and those that you look up to you think much more of you, their children, and those that they love than to sell them short. To think that you can't reach the Gold Standard of saving yourself until marriage, with no faith involved it is still the most amazing thing you could give to your future wife bar none. Being a guy myself and having been through pretty much every pressure that you will go through I can say that you don't have to cop out and believe the hype that "statistics" say that you can't do it or the world at large says you can't wait. That's a load of crap, I DO believe and many many people DO believe that kids today are worth much more time and investment than just being given a box of condoms and being told to run amuck. Whatever your faith doesn't are better than that.

Zack, I know that just as a Christian that might take issue with evolution or teaching the use of a condom in school has the option of sitting out, you could have opted out of the presentations from EFL if you didn't agree with them. Also I guess that I am not that concerned in the curriculum being taught in schools because for one your the only student I hear complaining and who can plan around one person? And two I have to take issue with the way that the Independent did this article. Everyone knows that The Independent is a liberal newspaper but I don't think that I have seen the level of "Christian bashing" in articles they print as I saw in this one. One could argue it was very hate based, if The Independent has issue with the curriculum being presented in schools that's fine, base your argument on that but to make it personal and attack the people behind it and their faith is ridiculous. The Independents facts were way off in many respects and made absolutely no effort to be objective even though EFL makes no mention of and completely separates their presentation from being faith based. It is purely scientifically based and approved beforehand by the Federal Govt. as such before being able to be presented in schools. But I guess they failed to mention that. Just look for the people that disagree with it and it makes the journalists job very easy. It's like me doing an involved article on Abortion and only talking to Planned Parenthood and those that align with their views...what do you think that I am going to get for my story? Poor poor reporting and completely unethical.
