I have instructed this course for over thirty years and consistently receive rave reviews. A flyer and consumer evaluations can be found at: http://www.scribd.com/my_document_collections/3976005 Classes will be held one night a week from 6 pm to 8 pm through Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at: Carmel Community Living Corp. day program 4905 Union Blvd. #200 Colorado Springs, CO 80918 Carmel's name not listed on building exterior or directory inside building This is a unique course, as in addition to learning vocabulary, participants learn about the Deaf community. Participants will produce and recognize 24 American Sign Language phrases. LESSON TWO 1. Participants will develop and share their name sign. 2. Participants will produce and recognize signed numbers. 3. Participants will produce and recognize 60 people, home, and animal signs. LESSON THREE 1. Participants will produce and recognize 60 food and description signs. 2. Participants will become familiar with the linguistic continuum. LESSON FOUR 1. Participants will produce and recognize 60 question and action signs. 2. Participants will learn etiquette in communicating with Deaf people. LESSON FIVE 1. Participants will produce and recognize 60 feeling and communication signs. 2. Participants will become familiar with Deaf culture. LESSON SIX 1. Participants will produce and recognize 60 time and date signs. 2. Participants will become familiar with ADA effective communication requirements. LESSON SEVEN 1. Participants will produce and recognize 60 health, recreation, and location signs. 2. Participants will pat themselves on the back; they now possess a basic vocabulary in American Sign Language!
