Re: “Dave Munger to retire from Council of Neighbors and Organizations

Supporting Dave's original bid for mayor was one of the first times I actually became interested in local government. His emphasis that strong neighborhoods make strong cities really resonated for me. I also loved that he reached out to young people to help with his social media efforts, but treated them as valuable players on his team with gifts and talents to bring to the community. Thank you, Dave for all of your hard work to make Colorado Springs a better place for all.

Re: “The Gazette lifted our jail food story

Way to call it! Thank you Pam and the Independent for another example of fine investigative journalism. It's sad that you have to waste time investigating the path of other journalists (Cora request tracking) who copy your work without giving credit where it was due.)

Re: “After 19 years behind bars, Shaka Senghor crafts change, inside and out

Excellent interview for this article, and a really good talk last night! About 1,500 people showed up and I know it was a very powerful story for all of us to hear. It's such an important conversation to have as a community, because it is a complex conversation and there are so many folks doing good work in COS to try and get in front of the problems, as well as to handle the mop up! Let's give them the support they need, or even better, rally to be part of the solution ourselves.
