City election candidates are lining up

Seven candidates had been certified to the April 2 city election ballot in the race for three at-large City Council seats as of the Indy's press time. They include real estate agent Tony Gioia, TV minister and former state House member Gordon Klingenschmitt, former Colorado Secretary of State Wayne Williams, incumbents Bill Murray and Tom Strand, former Will Rogers Elementary principal Terry Martinez and retired Air Force officer Val Snider, who served on Council from 2011 to 2015.

Juliette Parker has joined the mayoral race, and Mayor John Suthers announced his campaign on Jan. 19, but as of the Indy's press time, his petition had not been certified. Deadline was Jan. 22.
