On Sept. 22, election officials in 21 states were notified that their systems were targeted during last year's presidential election. Colorado's was among them.

According to the Associated Press, these calls from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) were the first official confirmation of which states were targeted by hackers allegedly working for the Russian government. The Feds say that in most cases, "targeting," means scanning the voter registry, but not actually compromising the vote tally. A spokesperson for Colorado's Secretary of State's office told the AP that our system wasn't breached. Only Illinois officials have reported a breach as of press time.
