Re: “Walk on the child's side

Why is it that they agonize over the decision to literally RESCUE these kids from death and/or worse, but if a couple has more than one police visit for a domestic dispute (nonviolent) they threaten to take your kids away and bully you into the system? My home is spotless, stocked with groceries, my children unmarked and very healthy and groomed, and we do not use drugs or alcohol., or even have any record of doing so in the past at all. My childrens' father is being villified and persecuted by the state because of a prior misdemeanor DV charge in another state 5 years ago, BEFORE OUR CHILDREN WERE EVEN ALIVE. Then we have one argument here, and POOF! Daddy is barred from seeing his family pending a "global assessment"? Who gives these people the power to trample the constitution and, more importantly, what in God's name determines how they pick their battles? Because I guarantee you, while these precious tax dollars and resources are being wasted on my family and lots of others like us, there are children in real danger who die in this state, as the record shows. And yes, Colorado DOES tear families apart. I am experiencing it right now. I have nightmares and panic attacks, and my kids can't figure out where their Daddy is. The "battered women's shelter" is full of women like me who leave their homes with their kids for fear of having them put in foster care over "DV". We have no marks but for the ones left on our psyches from this experience. When this is over, I will definitely move FAR away from Colorado, and never ever call the cops again for anything.

Re: “End of the road

5.7 million in savings to the city, huh? well, thank god that can go to line the pockets of more pigs (oh, sorry, police officers) they will have to put on the streets when crime spikes because no one can keep their jobs and there will be even MORE homeless people in those camps they want to do away with. oh wait, do i sense a theme here? does this mean more people in jails? oh that means more correctional officers and more jails and prisons....hmmm....wonder where that money is going to be spent. Am I in Colorado or TEXAS??? for crying out loud, people. Who MADE this decision? Who did we vote into power to create this type of blatant class-based oppression? This is crazy. By the way, I am a non-incarcerated, college-educated, middle-class nonminority who is TIRED of the direction this entire country is headed.
