Re: “Utilities makes up for lost bonuses with salary bumps

I am frustrated just reading all these negative responses regarding the utilities dept. My family and I just moved back to the springs after being gone for 2 years. We were subject to having to use companies that are "fpr profit" and didnt even hae to specify what you would paid per kilowatt/gallon, etc until the bill came in the mail. Thats right...we didnt know our cost for energy until they sent the bill that we were forced to pay. People in Colorado Springs take fr granted the utilities company and everyone that works there. Maybe some of the upper mgmt make quite a bit of money, but the average worker makes less or average to what they would make in their position with another company. So whats the big fuss? Its very easy to be righteous and less easy to be open to seeing the big picture and the overall truth. This article entailes the top paid people to make all of utilities seem liek money grubbing people. If this company wasnt part of the city and didnt have to answer to the idiots on city council and some uneducated citizens then we would have no reason to even care what these people made or how money was being spent. It would be a for profit monopoly that none of us could even question. Do you know that Springs Utilities prepurchases their energy, etc sometimes 10 yrs in advence to get the lowest rates possible and if there is unused resources they then sell them to companies who work for profit and dont think ahead for their customers. Hense making the city money. For all of you negative people that have nothing to do but criticize everyone else why dont you try to look in a mirror and see where your inprovements can be made before judging others.
