Re: “Trinity Brewing

I have not been there in some time but when I was I really appreciated all the Belgian ales on tap. That is very hard to find. If you appreciate Belgian ales you can do worse.

Tejon- I usually like your reviews but it seems like it's personal with you. You have too many entries on here and it's watering down your comments. Just my thoughts.

Jason is kind of a hippy dude, I met him when he was the brewmaster at Bristol's. He certainly has talent.

Re: “Fewer Colorado Springs cops work the streets as crime rises

16 years here. Loved it. Getting bad. Truck stolen from under me. People living in it. Everyone is getting a CCP as they probably should- I've never seen so much road rage happen in front of my face and to me. It's really getting worse. I'll grant you where I am relocating is actually worse but I expect that with where I am heading. It saddens me to see the decline of this city that I was so thrilled to live in and proud, too.
Chain restaurants and cookie cutter homes are it's future. Food scene stinks and the culture is poor. I cannot enjoy the outdoors due to my health and suddenly I realize how hollow this town (city) can be. It's not a small town and it should not be suffering as it does such as the horrible food and lack of theater, etc.

Even Denver has a poor food scene and culture compared to cities of it's size but I understand we are in a very different location. I hope things improve so when I vacation I'll want to come back here if my health returns.

I am sure I will be in the gunsights for my comments but I've lived all around this country. I came here to make it my permanent fixture. I just realize it's not going in a good direction and it's a good time to sell not to mention again once you start being a victim of crimes you lose faith. I live on the North side to top it off. It's not safe anywhere here any longer. Why don't we ever hear about the constant crimes on our local news?

Re: “Roads watchdog committee starts watching

Hope you folks realize only some roads are targeted to be repaired. No extra money overall for the horrific job done on potholes in this city. A city where I've been paying property taxes for 15 years and I watch it go down and down.

Less tax revenue? Hmmmm, we have med MJ stores all over but we have an issue with recreational when you can have it delivered to your home without a question? DUMB! I see the cars come and go and they aren't delivering pizza, k? So why no $?

And the folks that voted for 2C, did you know this is for over 5 years and for ONLY SOME ROADS? Wish I was not medically screwed up else I'd get into wheel alignments. Plenty of growth potential there!

Welcome to the wild west and Suthers world since he had the money to advertise and people vote based on TV instead of understanding. Geesh. And I'm an independent (no pun intended).

Re: “Trinity brewer Jason Yester apologizes for comments

Interesting. I knew this person some years ago via an another friend when he was at Bristols and going to CC. Back renting a house on campus days.

I hate to say it and feel bad but I found him to be snobby even then. Yes, he made great beer back then also. He was amiable but stuffy.

Jason, you're in the hospitality industry. I really enjoyed your brews when I visited. Funny though I tried to speak with you more about your brews at the fest some years ago in Old CO and you did not want to be bothered there.

If you want to be in this people facing business, perhaps have someone handle all the front of the house business including your social media.

His business is around still because he has some very good brews and personally I love the harder to find Belgian style offerings. So you have a good product but your personal hang ups are holding you back from hitting it big.

People like a friendly welcoming attitude and atmosphere. Add that to your hard work and love of the craft and business will boom even more so. Else stick with the distribution side.

Sorry but best to hear an honest opinion then go through life blind.

Re: “The Wobbly Olive proves a delicious exception to dining on Powers Boulevard

Sorry folks. I was in Denver last weekend and did tapas and this place was a poor example of a tapas restaurant.
Charcuterie- seriously? Bologna, corned beef, sliced cheese, grain mustard from a jar.
Meatballs way too salty. Eggplant- seriously under cooked.

Good stuff- scallops were nice and I got the impression the "chef" spent some time on that recipe. The lightly breaded and fried goat cheese was quite enjoyable.
Martinis were half the size I am used to seeing at a place that devotes its self to being a martini bar.

$100 (with tip) for 2 with no dessert is very disappointing. I gave a couple tips (I am not getting an attitude but I have a diverse restaurant background) and the owner was very nice. Server was nice but should have pointed out the items on the tapas such as the meats and cheeses instead of playing a guessing game,

She never had scallops before this job? Really? Ok fine but let me know what's on the plate instead of having to refer back to the menu.

I don't see it working past 9 months. I have to believe the lease $ is high though their food costs/liquor costs are low.

I get the feeling it's their first foray into the hospitality industry,

It's a tough pill for me to swallow after going to Osteria de Marco in LODO Denver last weekend where most all their meats and cheeses are house made and their wine list is awesome not mention their bartenders.

I wish them luck but there's much to learn. I feel bad if folks seriously think this is 5 star worthy.

Re: “Grand Gyros

Sounds good after reading the Indy link and your review. Are you sure you are not a family member? Just kidding.

Re: “Sancho's Mexican Grub

The food might be fine but unless you get some reviews from people that aren't family and friends no one is going to take this seriously.

I would rethink this practice. I have run restaurants and marketing is key. This isn't marketing it's spamming and it will turn people off.

The fact all the family and friends only give 5 stars and there are no outside reviews will make me NOT eat here.

Indy, please go there and do a review.

Now place all those posts on Yelp next. Wait to see the blow back you will get.

Re: “Sancho's Mexican Grub

No offense but these are all friends or relatives. I have NEVER seen that many reviews all come in at once on the same day. Some of them late at night?

And a comment about chili cheese fries?

I don't think this helps the cause. I'd love some good real Mex food in this town but this is not the way to push it down our throats.
