Re: “Arkansas tragedy strikes home

Ralph: The last thing one ever envisions is a tragedy when you head out for a serene camping experience.
I experienced the trauma drama of onrushing flood waters when the after effects of Hurricane Ike swooped through Fayetteville.
I walked at 2 a.m. and tried to take a short cut on a bike trail.
Suddenly the flood waters stormed over and I was swept off my feet.
I had death thoughts as I was dog paddling trying to stay afloat.
Miraculously I grabbed a fence and pulled myself back up.
So, I can empathize with flood victims and survivors.
Sometimes you just have to go with the flow and grab onto a tree limb or anthing else available in a fight for survival.
Albert Pike is in a very remote area with no cell phone availability and most campers don't pay attention to the weather forecast. They just want a serene getaway.
