Re: “A void in many hearts

Ted was a friend and neighbor of mine and my entire family when we lived in Memphis. He was a year behind me at White Station High School where he was loved and admired by so many, even as a teenager. We took several trips together and he got me a summer job after my first year in college as a construction worker. Although I was older, I was always amazed by his energy, strength, skill and easy-going nature. He was a fantastic athlete and extremely bright student. He got much of his outgoing and optimistic nature from his wonderful Mother who was paraplegic. She provided constant attention and wisdom to Ted and shaped his future caring for the less fortunate. I recall him telling me that he would never consider going into medicine (I was pre-med) because he didn't want to waste the best years of his life going to school. I was in no way surprised when he got into medical school and knew that he would continue his life of excellency in the same manner that I so admired. He exceeded all my expectations! Although I had not spoken with him for 3 years, I will miss him terribly. At least Heaven will be a better place. David Walker
