It's said that the one thing every human wants to feel is sense of a purpose. For the character of Willy Loman in the play Death of a Salesman, purpose is wrapped up in pursuit of the "American dream." But, as in all the best stories, nothing is quite as it appears. Death of a Salesman was written in 1949, and won a Pulitzer Prize and the Tony Award.
