Re: “Proposition 105: GMOs

@Steven Shaver, not one of those 1700 prove GMOs are safe for human consumption. The fact that you cite the trillion meal study as any kind of evidence of safety at all tells me you have fallen for the GMO biotech company lies or you are deliberately trying to mislead people. Ninety five percent of the animals in that study were from 49 day old broiler chickens! Super short term studies prove nothing when it comes to safety. The remaining five percent were mostly cattle that were also killed way before their life expectancy. In other words those studies are worthless and they have already been debunked. By the way, if you think Round Up is so safe I'm sure you would be willing to drink it, but many of us want GMOs labeled so we can avoid it.

Re: “Proposition 105: GMOs

The bottom line is everyone should have the right to know what is in the food they buy for their families. No one should be allowed to decide for us what we should know and what we shouldn't know about the food we buy. Many other countries have the freedom to know if it is GMO, why don't we? GMOs are genetically engineered to withstand massive amounts of herbicide (Round Up) or to produce it's own pesticide such as Bt corn. Did you know that Bt corn is registered as a pesticide with the EPA and it is in many of our food products such as cereal? There is so much evidence of harm caused from GMOs but we need to have GMOs labeled so that any ill effects can be tracked back to GMOs and officially documented. I believe the reason that the GMO biotech industries and the GMA are spending millions of dollars against labeling laws is because they don't want accountability. They could have saved a fortune if they just labeled their products in the first place. Don't fall for the scare tactics used by the No on Labeling side about the increased cost of food. The Consumers Reports says it will only increase costs by only $2.30 per person per year in Oregon and it can't be that much different in Colorado. Besides, food manufacturers are already labeling GMOs for other countries and it wouldn't be hard for them to label it for us too. Remember if you vote against labeling GMOs you are also voting against the rights of others to know what they are feeding their families.
