Re: “'Gulf Coast Syndrome'

I can confirm the facts in this article. This is one of the best, most inclusive articles that I have read today. Corexit is the dispersant used by BP and the Coast Guard, approved by Federal EPA as the best choice back in May, 2010. Corexit is made by NALCO which is owned by BP and Exxon. I have personally met and spoken to over 100 people from Thibedeux to Grand Isle , Louisiana who have been exposed to the oil and toxic chemicals from the Deepwater Horizon disaster. I have seen the Corexit and oil in the marshes and on the water. This is a national catastrophy. The powers that be have decided that there is nothing to do to fix the people who are sick, so why tell everybody they will be critically ill or that they might die.
Corexit bio-accumulates. It was sprayed from the air about 30 to 50 feet above the water by C-130 planes and injected into the water by shrimp boats rigged with PVC pipe.
I beleive BP, EXXON, Halliburton and our EPA and our government have decided that the health, safety and welfare of the people in southern Louisiana is collateral damage to the benefits of Big Oil and Industry in the region. The risk to the people has been figured into the cost/benefit analysis. There will be 1000s of people who will die from this disaster in the next ten years.
