Re: “Shaking the foundation at AFA

I love how your paper can just put it all out there- in supreme detail - ACCUSATIONS against the outstanding leaders of the Academy, getting direct quotes from the "whistleblowers" "who raised the allegations but asked not to be identified for fear of retribution in legal matters involving the academy. " While this matter MAY be something important once it's fleshed out, it may also NOT result in anything - the academy and these senior officers may be found completely in compliance. Yet..........you chose to publish this before the complete findings are available, based on two unnamed "whistleblowers." Two who don't even have the guts to present this out in the open, using their names. Couldn't you have waited with this story until all the findings were complete, and THEN published it (or not published it if it ends up to not really be a story?) Your editorial choices are right up there with the likes of the National Inquirer. I'm not surprised that the leadership at the Academy declined to comment. I'm particularly impressed with this demonstration of your staunch support of the Academy and all that it does for Colorado Springs. By the way - I live in Florida and do not work for the Academy, nor am I a graduate. I'm a retired Air Force officer who is sick of this kind of reporting - and all so you can publish a "gotcha" article. Your staff really should look in a mirror and collectively ask if publishing this article was the right thing to do.....oh sorry - too late now.
