This week offers something for hip-hop fans beyond even Tech N9ne’s June 21st stop at the Black Sheep.

Sacramento-based emcee Mr. P Chill, who has quietly produced a strong body of work featuring 10 independently-released LPs while continuing to anchor the city’s underground hip-hop scene, will bring his “conscious hip-hop” stylings to the Royal Castle Lounge on Wednesday, June 20. Bolstering the latest stop on Mr. P Chill’s “Time Out Tour” is an embarrassment of riches of local hip-hop talent, including Che Bong, Ibe Hustles, Stoney Bertz, Big Ro, and DJ Gravity.

Mr. P Chill is also due to release a new LP, Funky Uncle Chill, on Aug. 17, so his stop here will likely give fans both new and old a preview of his latest material. His previous LP, The Beautiful Revolution, was not-coincidentally released on Inauguration Day, Jan. 20 of 2017.
