Today is a real coup for local music, so let's get to it. Starting at 2:30 p.m., the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs will unveil its season-opening Eroica, at First Christian Church (16 E. Platte Ave., chamberorchestraofthesprings.org). As with yesterday's identical performance, Thomas Wilson will conduct this classic Beethoven work with guest pianist Joseph Liu, 2013 winner of the Amateur Pianists International competition. Come 45 minutes before the show for a lecture with KCME general manager George Preston. Tickets are $20, $18 for seniors and $5 for students. Then, at 4 p.m., 450 singers from eight local choral groups — including the Colorado Springs Choral Society and its Chamber Singers, Soli Deo Gloria Choir, Abend Musik, and the Colorado Vocal Arts Ensemble — will combine for the first-ever Choral Confluence show, which is free, at the Pikes Peak Center (190 S. Cascade Ave., tiny.cc/m3qdnx). — Edie Adelstein
