Re: “Rainbow disconnection

I have read the posted comments and would like to point out you are missing the main purpose of the article in the Independent. I have questions that have never been answered. #1, where is the money that Mr. Trevino brought in to the Center? #2 Why did the President of the Board resine so suddenly? #3. Has there been an audit of the books? #4, Why does the Director, Mr. Acker have a checking account that he writes checks on yet the Center also retains an accounting firm that writes checks. There is just not a good accounting practise set up at the Center.#5, Why are there only three (3) Board of Directors? I have dropped into the Center many times, there is no coffee for the coffe bar, the attendence for two of the groups that I belong to is less than five or six people, one being the over 50 and the other is the men's potluck and game night. Both of these meet once a month. Colorado Springs certainly needs an active Center. I am one of the original founding members of PFLAG International and a strong supporter of the GLBT Community. I am sad that the Director and Board will not give out factual information on the finances of the Center. The Community needs to wake up and get more involved in the operations of the Center and also hold the Director and the Board accountable to the Community.
