Re: “The golden years

Mr Pearson, I think reading comments of others should tell you that your comment was over the top. You are right this is not a Vet issue but you happened to make it one. For your information, I am a Vet too.....we all have given or sacrificed more than we should but that was our choice....but its not our job to determine who sacrifice more than an other.
Bottom-line, we should come together as brothers in arms and thank the other for their service. To answer your question, NO, I am not a turnstile military member that went to the same job as a civilian after retiring. I still think you owe the military community an apology for your off the cuff opinions and comments because if you did...sorry I miss it somewhere. Oh by the way thank you for your service!!!!

Re: “The golden years

I have to disagree with Mr JamesPearson. Apparently, he doesn't know much about military retirees. If he did, he would know the majority of retirees barely make enough for a house payment and utilities. This does not include other expenses you have just to live everyday in this country. Most military people do not own a house when they retire due to numerous job changes and locations, not to mention losing money on homes when they had to sell due to Uncle Sam saying, you are needed elsewhere.

When you sacrifice 20yrs of service to your country against all odds of surviving..yes I mean putting your job on the line...retirement pay is just a small thank you for the sacrifices they had to endure and their families.

Mr Pearson, if being in the military is such a good deal...why didn't you do it?
