Art gifts galore during two-day studio tour

Dozens of artists in Manitou and Colorado Springs will throw open their doors on Saturday and Sunday for a rare opportunity to see and purchase artworks directly from whence they were created. Ten working studios including InHouse Digital Printing, Kay Beaubien Studio, Michael Baum Studio, Deb Komitor Studios, Eye Object, Bear Creek Studio, Helstrom Studios and Gallery, Laura Reilly Studio Gallery, Route 66 Studios and Unbeweavables will participate in the two-day event. Gallery-goers will also be treated to sneak peeks of works in progress, the opportunity to speak directly with the artists and, of course, the chance to buy original gifts of jewelry, pottery, drawings, sculptures, paintings and clothing. Studios will be open on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday, Dec. 7 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For addresses, directions and a downloadable map of the two-day tour, go to www.michaelbaum.com/studiotour.htm, or call 650-1427 or 635-8456.
