Good eatin'

We've been inundated in recent years with so many food trends -- and scares -- that it's hard to keep up anymore. There's the Slow Food movement, and pushes to avoid genetically altered food and assembly-line slaughterhouses that have been the source of mass contaminated-meat recalls. So why haven't more people made the switch to an organic diet?

Of course now it's a lot easier, but I don't think about it much. - - How much of your Thanksgiving dinner will be organic or locally grown? Probably none of it. If I'm buying it all at the supermarket then almost none at all. - - What is your grossest fast-food story? Aside from thinking that fast food in general is gross, I don't have one. - - - -

I don't think that it's extremely cost prohibitive; it is a little more expensive than regular food. I prefer to buy organic food if I could, but considering how much money I'm not making, I can't. - - Is the push toward organic food a big scam? No, I think that overall it is better for you. I got sick at Hardee's one time. I was in the bathroom for like thirty or forty-five minutes after that. - - - -

It isn't as good as regular food because they have to go out of their way to put in different substitutes for food ingredients that they think aren't good for me. Especially for a college student, getting organic foods is kind of difficult. - - How much more expensive is organic food? I don't know exactly, but compared to non-organic food it is more expensive. - - Is the push toward organic food just a big scam? For people who have enough income to afford it, I think it's a good thing; but for someone in my position, it isn't. - - What is your grossest fast-food story? Anytime I go to McDonald's.

    Bad week for the Republicans

Last week's rulings -- outlawing vouchers and Republican efforts to gerrymander the congressional redistricting maps -- left the Grand Old Party sputtering vows to appeal. Meanwhile, Rush Limbaugh erupted in anger after investigators looking for proof that he illegally obtained drugs raided his doctor's offices.
