Greek Festival

When: Sat., Sept. 19, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sun., Sept. 20, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. 2009
Price: Free

I'd like to say that, just once, I've gotten through a viewing of My Big Fat Greek Wedding and not thought, "Mmm ... gyros ... baklava ... shish kabobs ... wait, what's a Bundt cake?" Unfortunately, this has never happened. Well, for other lovers of Greek deliciousness, St. John's Greek Orthodox Church (1010 Spruce St., Pueblo, stjohngoc-pueblo.org) has you covered. Today and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., the church will host its free Greek Festival to celebrate all things Hellenic: folk dancing, booths selling novelty items, homemade Mediterranean dishes (including loukoumathes, Grecian donuts covered in honey) and a lot more. Except maybe Bundt cake. — Bryce Crawford
