Simple - few forms of public transit in a few cities, make a realistic profit, and Colo Spngs transit is not one of the exceptions. Given the hours of operation, many of the stop locations, and the amount of time to go from one place to another, owning a vehicle is still more cost efficient. One of the local stations last year, did a real basic cost time study, by having one reporter take the bus, and another taking their own vehicle from the station downtown to Security Service Field. IIRC, the reporter in the vehicle took about 20 min, and the reporter on the bus took almost an hour, for almost the same amount of money - add in the value of ones time, and the transit system is a real looser.
