Re: “Flawed study coining ‘rapid-onset gender dysphoria’ frightens parents, puts LGBTQ community on the defensive

Hello. I knew I was transgender when I was just 3 years, and people would come up to me in anger and ask, What are you, a boy or a girl?" I was confused because I didnt understand what they wanted from me, and they scared me for their reaction this sweet child before them. But it was the 1960's, so my mother insisted that I wear a dress to grade school every day and made me take ballet lessons at 6, but the teacher told her I couldn't come back because I wasn't "graceful" enough. I was stocky and a tom boy, so no big surprise, but that was still bigoted of the teacher.

I knew I was transgender but didn't know the word for it until I went to the Planned Parenthood in our town when I was 16 and read a book in on it their library. Back then, transitioning was not a choice for a female to male Transgender. So please don't tell me how I feel or what my sexual identity is or not. I knew at 14 I had NO SEXUAL ATTRACTION to men, but wanted instead to become one.

You have not taken one step in my shows. You have not been discriminated against by have people yell bigoted things at you, or harassed you WHEN YOU ARE USING THE RESTROOM! I have been threatened for using the rest room of my birth gender and have to tell startled women, "It's okay, I'm female" so they don't freak out. I have been followed back to my car by their male partners wondering WTF, are they going to try to hurt me? It is my right to use the public bathroom and nobody is going to stop me. If they did try, I will be the one calling 911 and reporting that I am the one that is being threatened and abused!

Re: “Reader: Put Christ back in Christmas

Jesus Christ wasn't born on December 25, the pagan Sun god was, and when the Catholic Church wanted to convert the pagans, they merged the two into one holiday called Christmas.

Wikipedia- Although the month and date of Jesus' birth are unknown, by the early-to-mid fourth century the Western Christian Church had placed Christmas on December 25,[23] a date that was later adopted in the East.[24][25] Today, most Christians celebrate on December 25 in the Gregorian calendar, which has been adopted almost universally in the civil calendars used in countries throughout the world. However, some Eastern Christian Churches celebrate Christmas on December 25 of the older Julian calendar, which currently corresponds to January 7 in the Gregorian calendar, the day after the Western Christian Church celebrates the Epiphany. This is not a disagreement over the date of Christmas as such, but rather a preference of which calendar should be used to determine the day that is December 25. Moreover, for Christians, the belief that God came into the world in the form of man to atone for the sins of humanity, rather than the exact birth date, is considered to be the primary purpose in celebrating Christmas.[26][27][28][29] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas

Re: “The election is finally over, and now we know just how divided we really are

FYI- If the Intern didn't try to grab the mike out of his hand in the first place, we wouldn't even be discussing this incident. What right did she have to do that? Was that being civil to a member of the WH Press? NO, it was very disrespectful and TRUMP and company are out of control and need to grow tf up!

Re: “Parents claim AFA cadet said slain Jews are "burning in hell forever"

PS- Then he (Jesus) asked them, Whose image is this? And whose inscription?

21 Caesars, they replied.

Then he said to them, So give back to Caesar what is Caesars, and to God what is Gods.

22 When they heard this, they were amazed. So they left him and went away.

THIS IS WHY WE NEED THE SEPERATION OF CHURCH AND STATE :
"Separation of church and state" is paraphrased from Thomas Jefferson and used by others in expressing an understanding of the intent and function of the Establishment Clause and Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States which reads: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."

The phrase "separation between church & state" is generally traced to a January 1, 1802, letter by Thomas Jefferson, addressed to the Danbury Baptist Association in Connecticut, and published in a Massachusetts newspaper. Jefferson wrote,

Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between Church & State. Adhering to this expression of the supreme will of the nation in behalf of the rights of conscience, I shall see with sincere satisfaction the progress of those sentiments which tend to restore to man all his natural rights, convinced he has no natural right in opposition to his social duties."[1]

Re: “Parents claim AFA cadet said slain Jews are "burning in hell forever"

Matthew 22:34-40 New International Version (NIV) The Greatest Commandment

34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?

37 Jesus replied: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments. LOVE TRUMPS HATE!

Re: “Parents claim AFA cadet said slain Jews are "burning in hell forever"

HELLO COLORADO SPRINGS- didn't we just go thru "Swastika found on Briargate Trail in area with previous neo-Nazi activity" before a shooting in Pittsburgh synagogue shooting, and you wonder why these parents and their child are scared of the bigoted citizens in this town that are doing such hateful behaviors? WAKE UP!

My comment to that article: WE ARE EACH RESPONSIBLE FOR OUR OWN BELIEFS AND ACTIONS!

My mother grew up in Jewish Brooklyn in the 30s thru 50s, and my father saw the Hindenburg with a swastika on the tail fly over Queens, NY when he was just 8 years old. My grandfather came to America from Germany in 1910, and my parents raised us as Lutherans and to respect all races, religions and cultures. My father brought home international students from Africa and the Middle East for dinner when he was a Doctoral student.

My next door Jewish neighbors in our diverse neighborhood were survivors of the Nazi camps. My parents explained to their children why my Jewish neighbors had a tattoo with an identification code on their forearms and how their families were MURDERED by the Nazis for being Jewish and Undesirable.

When my brother was in high school he became friends with an older boy whose father fought in WWII and brought home a Nazi flag and German lugger gun. They proudly hung up the flag and they started their own group in the kid's basement saying the N word a lot, playing with the gun like they were brave soldiers, and then I became their target.

At a high school keg party, my own brother called me out as a Fuckin Faggot in front of everyone. He was ashamed of me because at 17 years old you could tell that I was a transgender person. My parents didnt teach this HATE for others, he chose to accept this belief and the consequences of his actions. I am thankful to say that today he is a Born Again Christian, and he has apologized for his previous behaviors to me.

WE ARE EACH RESPONSIBLE FOR OUR OWN BELIEFS AND ACTIONS!.
