The last time Guttermouth came through Colorado, it was on a bill with the U.K. Subs and Agent Orange, two pioneering punk bands whose showmanship and repertoire have stood the test of time. How well Guttermouth’s music has aged, meanwhile, is a judgment best left to their fans.

The Huntington Beach act, who came of age during the late-‘80s skate-punk era, got a serious career boost when The Offspring’s Dexter Holland signed them to his indie label in the mid-’90s. In the years since, they’ve continued to churn out sarcastic pop-punk songs that are designed to annoy more politically correct sensibilities.

These days, frontman Mark Adkins is the sole survivor from the original lineup, but you can still count on him to do faithful renderings of fan favorites like “1-2-3 Slam,” “Asshole” and “Bruce Lee vs. The Kiss Army.” If you’re planning to go, be sure to arrive on time to catch Colorado Springs’ own punk-pop heroes The Nobodys.
