Mike Miles is destroying a district that is already in trouble. Scores had been rising for a couple of years, but after only half a year of E&R the district's scores are already dropping. Miles and some of his school administration have no idea how to run a business or how to increase student achievement. Their E&R plan encourages new teachers to enter the district and experienced teachers to exit the district. Over the past 4 years district two has had over a 75% turnover. In my building alone we lost over 20 teachers this year. Most employers know that it is difficult if not impossible to run a smooth and effective business with over 20 new employees. Another huge problem with E&R is that teacher's get rated based off of student achievement, not student improvement. This means that a teacher is payed off of the level their students are at and not the amount of growth that the students have made while in that teacher's classroom. In other words, teachers in areas where parents do their job better, get paid more.
