Gov. John Hickenlooper signed a June 18 executive order that prevents state funds from being used to separate children from parents based solely on immigration status. The Trump administration's family separation policy has led to more than 2,000 kids being taken from their parents simply for crossing the border. "The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's policy and practice of separating children from their parents when arriving at the southern border is offensive to our core values as Coloradans and as a country," the executive order states.
