Parking area for the open space. The trail starts behind the pavilion.

Informational kiosk at the pavilion. The only trail from the parking area, the Hidden Mesa Trail, starts to the right of this kiosk. There are additional informational signs along this hike.

Take the Hidden Mesa Trail due west, crossing Cherry Creek, to where it meets the Cherry Creek Trail

At the intersection with the paved Cherry Creek Trail, turn right

About .4 miles, turn off of the Cherry Creek Trail and continue west on the Hidden Mesa Trail.

Just under 1 mile after turning off of the Cherry Creek Trail, turn right onto the Pleasant Pass Trail

Approximately 1.25 miles after turning off the Hidden Mesa Trail, the Pleasant Pass Trail again meets Hidden Mesa. Turn right.

A little over 200' later, turn left onto the Mesa Rim Trail

Take the Mesa Rim Trail for about 1.75 miles until it meets the Hidden Mesa Trail. Turn right (downhill) on Hidden Mesa through Rocky Pass. The first 1000' or so is steep and rocky.

Continue east on Rocky Pass/Hidden Mesa Trail until you reach the Cherry Creek Trail. Turn right here, then left about .4 miles later onto Hidden Mesa and return to the trailhead.
