The Colorado Springs Police Department Explorer Program will be the beneficiary of the inaugural printing of the CSPD K-9 calendar now available to the public. The 11-by-17-inch color wall calendar highlights all 16 of the department's dogs. The program targets ages 141/2 to 21 years who want to explore becoming a police officer. Explorers must buy their own uniforms, which cost $370. Officials hope the dog calendars raise adequate funds to make the program accessible to youth throughout the city by eliminating the uniform cost. Calendars are available for $15 (cash or check only, payable to CSPD Explorer Post 116). Download an order form from the CSPD Facebook page.
