Re: “Reader: Neat trick, Mr. Anschutz

Okay, spleen Fully Vented---one more thing: Has it crossed anyone's mind in the Downtown Crowd that controls City Council, that maybe you could hustle back to the State and scrap this screwball stadium idea? And ask for the tax rebate to be instead spent on a PROVEN WINNER? The Cog Railroad? The whole concept is that State will rebate taxes on bet that what City spends it on will repay original grant PLUS serious bucks. Think about it. In case Phil not on-board.

Re: “Reader: Neat trick, Mr. Anschutz

Gotta jump in on this again. My earlier post (there may be way to dig around Indy news menu and find it)---not based on reader letter---echoes Mr Nicholl, or he echoes me. The whole story stinks---and from the git-go. There WILL be a pitch for taxpayers to fund keeping the Cog alive. Even hippie-dippie Manitou is now wringing their hands, over $700k in lost tax revenue from train. Mr. Phil can indeed afford to rebuild the Cog enterprise, and sure he has accountants that can park the expense or loss somewhere to his advantage come tax time---for years. Get real, people!

Re: “Cog Railway closure could impact recreation on Pikes Peak

This has a bad smell to it already, and it smells like Broadmoor blackmailing City (that means US) into coughing up the cash for a new train or costly refurb of the existing track & rolling stock. We've seen this movie before. Remember when the hotel decided to fold Ski Broadmoor? City Council responded with "Haruump! Haruump! Ski Broadmoor is a city 'gem'---, we must save it, damn the cost!" And COST it did! Here we go again, folks...

Re: “Reader: Yes, Congress, NRA, pundits — this is insanity.

Trump's latest whopper* Says he would have stormed into bldg during shooting "...even if I did not have a weapon"
THE PART HE LEFT OUT "...if their Food Court had a McDonalds."
* Oops. Wrong burger.

Re: “How 25 local bands got their names

You glaringly failed to uncover story behind Greatest 1-Night Stand/Band in Springs' history: Lyin' Bitch & The Restraining Orders. "Because Inquiring Minds Want To Know"!

Re: “Douglas Bruce announces "anti" campaigns on four ballot measures

Sure hope Dougie plans on working the precincts door-to-door. Walk off a little of that humongous belly he's sporting these days, per the photo.

Re: “Trump event at UCCS stirs controversy

Strange political creature expected in area today. Orange-tinted skin topped by what appears to be a blonde-dyed animal pelt styled in a mullet. Said to be easily irritated; goes ballistic when mention of "...such tiny hands, and we all know what THAT means!" Even tho this is Lyin' Ted country, traffic jams/crowd will show to see the small hands.
